Kichari



Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup dal (preferably yellow split mung dal)
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 T. salt.


  • Wash the rice three times.
  • Add water, salt.
  • Bring to a boil in heavy bottomed pan, cover and reduce heat, simmer approximately 20-30 minutes.
  • Stir frequently.

Add about 1 cup water if necessary.
