Kichari
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice
- 1 cup dal (preferably
yellow split mung dal)
- 5 cups water
- 1 T. salt.
- Wash the rice three
times.
- Add water,
salt.
- Bring to a boil in heavy
bottomed pan, cover and reduce heat, simmer
approximately 20-30 minutes.
- Stir
frequently.
Add about 1 cup water if
necessary.
