General Body Meeting of the WashU Fantasy and Science Fiction Club,

2/14/04

Business Meeting: 6:45-7:00pm

I. Tabling. Thanks to all of you who turned out to promote the Science Fiction and Fantasy Club [Fantasy and Science Fiction Club] last week. We collected many signatures and distributed many fliers. We also talked to many people who had read the Student Life article about us.

We now have a table reserved in Wohl on Tue 2/`l7 from 3:30-7 (just before the talk by Keith Kelly). We also have a table in Mallinckrodt, M 2/16, 11-2pm. We will hand out our own fliers and those of the Gaelic Culture Society (and perhaps WashU Coop, since they promoted our club at their Student Activities Fair table).

Some of us will be eating dinner with Keith Kelly from 6-7pm on Tuesday (myself included). We need at least two people to staff our table in Wohl from 6-7pm, on Tuesday, just before the lecture. Who will volunteer?

II. Constitution and elections. Do we need a formal division of labor at this time? If so, who wants to do what? Should our name be "Fantasy and Science Fiction Club" or "Science Fiction and Fantasy Club" (or can we use both names?)

III. Website. We have a shorter URL on our fliers now (thanks to Craig). What should we do about a permanent website?

IV. Reading Groups. Should we help to form new informal, private reading groups, to read and discuss various books? Last year at least one such group formed to read "The Lord of the Rings." Perhaps we should post a list of potential authors or topics of interest, and request that people contact the Club email address with the desired topic in the subject line.

V. Chat Rooms. Should we start online discussion groups or chat rooms?

VI. Logo. Craig drew a logo for our club while staffing the information table last week. Should we adopt this logo?

VII. Pizza. What kind of pizza do you want? [Papa John's phone number: 314-367-7272]
