NASCO update
Duncan:
… The guy told ups that there are models for what we could do important to get working models from other universities&emdash;University owned, they have nice panflits.
… The school might tell us to go at it alone but this could still work
… Suggestion: road trips to other co-ops.
… Champagne, Illinois (5 hours away) has some NASCO properties
… Chicago has a diverse range of coops (one activist only)
… Look at CCDC handbook
… Most coops start w/ leasing, go from there
… To be a reliable group to banks, we should become our own entity. Then we could establish corporate structure, reliability.
… We need to establish numbers for living.
… Maybe we could start up house and use it as HQ of cooperative network.
… Look for rental property.
… Work out constitution, how we're gonna deal with finances.
… We need to look into building codes&emdash;brothel codes. Can ask the city.
… He said he would send us the other stuff from the coops, and that we should be in touch, maybe once a month.
Maybe we should concentrate our efforts on the housing, and go from there.
The committee on environmental quality
Duncan's advisor gave us the in for next semester
